For those who thought I’d never make soap again

Well, ok, I’m making shampoo bars. Cath brought home these LUSH-ious shampoo bars at Spring Break, and I am hooked! I love how they clean my hair with no frizz, and I don’t need conditioner afterwards. I’m doing these hot-process, but maybe if I feel inspired, I will make some bath soap this week, cold-process.

I WANT SOME BRING SOME WHEN YOU COME OKAY AND BRING EXTRA SO I CAN SHARE WITH MY COWORKERS

MY ENTHUSIASM HAS RENDERED ME INSENSITIVE TO TONAL MODULATION

    TEXTUALLY SPEAKING, OF COURSE

  3. The shampoo bar looks like the meatloaf we had a couple of days ago. I’m not so sure I want to wash my hair with that.

  4. “And the award for the first edible shampoo goes to….MOM!!!!!” Yum.

I shall be sure to try one during my upcoming, bi-monthly shower.

  6. I forgot to bring any shampoo when I went to the hospital to have Cutie Pie, so for three days I had to wash my hair with *bar soap* (Mickey Mouse soap, to be exact – from the hotel we stayed at in Disney, obv.). I don’t recommend.

That thing on the left looks like a dried up placenta. STRANGE BUT TRUE: my L&D nurse told me that they used to save the placentas in a big giant freezer and sell them to a shampoo company or something. She said she was *really* glad when that practice stopped.

I have a very firm *Don’t Look at the Placenta* policy. Needless to say this also applies to hair washing.

Ah….Joni, no placenta, and no detergent in my shampoo bar. Homemade soaps still have the glycerin in them. Mine does a nice job on my hair.

Aww, mom. I was one of those who thought you’d never make soap again. I’m so happy! Haha. Hopefully I’ll be able to come over and check it out soon. 🙂
