You could have knocked me over with a feather this afternoon, when I got a phone call from someone I have known since I was….8 years old!!! Our families have been friends since the Navy days, and we tried to keep in touch even when we didn’t live near each other. Tom…he’s still Tommy as far as I’m concerned, called this afternoon. I haven’t heard from him or anyone in his family in at least 20 years, though my dad gave me updates when he talked to Aunt Margie. As soon as I can find a picture( or when Tom emails me some) I will put them up here.

I’m still here
The girls and I are still in Alabama, helping Loretta get things settled, and enjoying spending time with her. I don’t have a lot of time to post, but I wanted to add this picture with a big Thank You to all who have expressed condolences.
Robbie was not able to make it here, to our sorrow, but we had a candle burning next to a picture of him and his dear Grandaddy to include him.
After the Honor Guard presented the flag to Loretta and the service was over, she gave me the flag. It meant so much to me, and just really cemented the love I have for my beautiful stepmom.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY JONI!
So, I totally dropped the ball on wishing Joni a Happy Birthday. I thought about her all day, talked about her all day, yet never called or blogged. How lame am I? I so would not blame her for sticking me in a nursing home. Though I might point out that even though the Muppets Christmas show was aired for the first time the day she was born, I was too busy watching her sweet lil face to watch the show. : ) I would love to put a picture in of that lil baby face, but I have no scanner.
